O presente artigo tem como objetivo abordar as diferentes maneiras pelas quais a figura latino-americana já foi ou ainda é representada nos palcos da Broadway, o centro do teatro musical americano, entendendo como suas dramatizações podem influenciar e expandir convicções estadunidenses específicas. A forma como uma caracterização é feita pode ajudar a perpetuar estereótipos ou derrubar muros, remodelando visões ultrapassadas, valendo-se do conceito de soft power para tal.
