This study aimed to adapt an intervention roadmap for Digital Transformation (DT) in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The research is based on the roadmap proposed by Kretzschmar (2021). After translation and adaptation, it was adjusted using Design Science Research (DSR) with a pilot intervention and a real-world intervention in mechanical workshops. The method was supported by participant observation, field notes, and document analysis. The research resulted in an artifact with more phases, detailed, with accessible language, and with a greater capacity to guide DT. This contributes to the transition from intuitive management to criteria-driven management.
