This study aimed to identify the effects of extended availability at work on emotional exhaustion, psychological distancing, and work-family conflict based on information and communication technologies (ICT) use. Perceptions of Brazilian Federal Police (FP) servants were analyzed using structural equation modeling with partial least squares estimation. The results indicated that using ICT after working hours impacts extended availability, and the latter reduces the psychological distance and potentiates conflicts in the work-family relationship. The expected negative relationship between extended availability and emotional exhaustion was not confirmed.
