OUTRAS POSSIBILIDADES PARA BENDEGÓ

Abstract

This essay aims to reflect on another existencial possibility concerning the Bendegó meteorite, drawing from a set of works by Gustavo Caboco and the Wapichana family displayed at the 34th Bienal of São Paulo. Inserted in the context of Indigenous Contemporary Art, this collective work shows that Bendegó is a indigenous stone and its relations are linked to Wapichana ancestry, beyond the colonial dominant narratives that have been told about it. Therefore, my attempt is to think about the desestabilizations that are here implied when another point of view is brought into discussion.
