Our century is marked by countless crises and upheavals. One of the hallmarks of the uprisings is the urgency for new signs and symbols that are capable of representing new narratives, marked by difference and by the critical stance towards the instituted. In this area, public space is the privileged stage for such a dispute. The overthrow of the statues rekindled the debate about collective memory. What is at stake in the construction and demolition of monuments? Do the symbols represented there still make sense? The artistic proposals of Rosangela Rennó and the collective 3Nós3 touch on this issue and guide us in the search for making explicit its implications in the fields of art and politics. It is on the perspective of affections and micropolitical analysis that the relationship with contemporary symbols and narratives is being built.
