With the title Indigestible Tropics, the Dossier of issue 39 of Revista Poiésis aims to propose a critical reflection around the process - geographical, historical and symbolic - of the construction of a discourse of Brazilianness. In the political and social context of the last few years, we have observed a growing interest in the productions of some artists in questioning not only the symbols of national identity - flags, banners, and monuments - but also the spaces in which the hegemonic discourse on Brazilian identity was historically produced.
