A Geração da Utopia, by Pepetela, is an autofictional novel: the narrator fictionally lectures from facts and ambience directly experienced by the author. The real motivations of revolutionaries before and after the country’s independence are problematized in every moment of the process of national liberation struggle in Angola. The revolutionaries were motivated by a wide perspective of liberation, beyond the national level: the social. However, as in all crossings, the point reached on the other side was not exactly the one in their dreams. And the oppressive forms of colonialism ended up entangling, with new clothing, the free Angola, creating dystopian perspectives, contrary to revolutionary utopia.Downloads
