Abstract

In this essay, we will interrogate the question of ominous in Outro nome (1965), of Gastão Cruz, and the dark expression of the real in these ten pieces. We will seek the conditions of possibility of a negative textual figuration; what are the meanings of disappointment, anguish and melancholy in the production context of Outro nome. How are engendered in the author’s light of the poetic (calling, whenever possible, other poems of his work) and the palimpsest of Camões and the citational effect. Also seeks to understand how the construction of dark’s and disappointing scenarios contributes to an interpretation of historical time (Portuguese fascism). That rhetorical processes confirm, in these compositions, a language neo-mannerism and a world vision obscured by a «tenebritas», in the light of which the places called to the text, are places where the evil, the sadness, the astonishing require an arid, obsessive and tensional language.
