Demonis in "Orpheu" journal: Raul Leal and the vertigo novel “Atellier”

This article proposes to study the short story written by Raul Leal and published in 1915 under the title “Atelier” in the Orpheu review. In order to outline what the Demonism is, we shall analyze its fantastic aspect in connection with occultism and madness. Afterwards, the sexual deviances expressed in the narrative will be examined. All this study attempts to highlight the poetic proposed by the author, based on Desire and Pain.
