Abstract

This work intends to study the complex construction of the identity from the book Um rio chamado tempo, uma casa chamada terra of Mia Couto. We will observe how this writing negotiates concepts of tradition and con­temporaneity in close relation with the notion of in-between from Homi Bhabha (2001) in the book The location of culture and with the idea of un­decidable of Jacques Derrida.

Professora da Universidade Estadual de Roraima, pós-doutora pela UFRR, doutora em Teoria da Literatura pela Unesp (2010), Mestre em Teoria Literária e Crítica da Cultura pela UFSJ (2005). Autora do livro de crítica literária Rastros de Memória. Experiência na área de Educação, com ênfase em Língua Portuguesa e Crítica Literária, Memória Cultural.
