The present text seeks to analyze the poetic writing of Ruy Duarte de Carvalho present in the book Hábito da terra. By reading and interpreting the poetic rereading of the sayings in Nyaneka and Kwanyama, it is possible to highlight some peculiarities inherent in the Angolan poet’s text, such as the eroticism of language, the radial writing and the question of translating an oral tradition into a written language. Ideas that are thought through some theorists like Roland Barthes and Walter Benjamin.
