Abstract

In this paper, we discuss how Ruy Duarte de Carvalho’s poetry reconfigures aspects of the Angolan sacred. We propose that, just as the desert is a symbol, above all, of the search for meaning, the sacred reenacted in poetic images is the experience of a reality, the very attempt of (re) construction of the subject.

Claudia Fabiana de Oliveira Cardoso, FAETEC

Graduação em Letras, Português - Literaturas, pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1998), mestrado em Letras - Literatura Portuguesa e Literaturas Africanas de Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (2003) e doutorado em Literatura Comparada pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (2013). Exerceu a função de professor titular por 14 anos no UNIABEU - Centro Universitário, tendo atuado também como Coordenadora do Curso de Letras e Coordenadora da área de Letras do PIBID. É membro do conselho editorial da Revista e-scrita, do curso de Letras do UNIABEU e do Laboratório de Leituras da ETEFV, projeto apoiado pela FAPERJ. Atualmente, é professora da Fundação de Apoio à Escola Técnica do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
