This article seeks to think about the representational place of romantic relationship in the work of contemporary Portuguese poet Adília Lopes through reading of some poems from the book O regresso de Chamilly (2000). In this reading, the place of sexuality linked to reproduction is of substantial importance to reflect upon the performance of female sexed body in loving experience. This work is a deployment of the reflections adressed in the thesis Problemas de gênero, problemas de escrita: estudos das remissões intertextuais à Sylvia Plath na poética de Adília Lopes.
