BLACK WOMEN BENEFICIARIES OF THE BFP: THE CHALLENGE OF HOUSEHOLD HEADSHIP
O DESAFIO DA CHEFIA FAMILIAR
Abstract
This article is a partial result of a research entitled “Social configurations and practices of the Bolsa Família Program (BFP) user families in Belém-PA”. It analyzes the trajectory of women beneficiaries of the PBF to understand the challenges of their family headship. The results showed that, since childhood, these women have been affected by poverty, racism, sexism and gender violence. The public policy closes them in the domestic space and, under the control of black female bodies, reinforces naturalizations of the historical social contradictions of the intersectionality of gender, race and class in the family's relationship with the State.
