ESTUDOS EM MASCULINIDADES E AUTOCUIDADO NA LITERATURA BRASILEIRA: IMPLICAÇÕES POLÍTICAS E SOCIAIS

Abstract

ABSTRACT:

In Brazil, studies on masculinity are related to the comprehension of men as subjects in their multiple quests. Considering these issues, this research has been committed to understanding: what are studies of masculinities about and if there is scientific evidence that men are tougher to self-care practices. This is a bibliographic survey research, of the state-of-the-art kind, that involves qualitative constructions and content analysis. It implies that, in Psychology, the authors discuss from a similar point of view on masculinities and self-care, related to an uncritical perspective on masculinity studies.
