This article seeks to analyze the intersectional relations of gender and race with the issue of development and territory. Philosophical and ideological orientations influence development, and its connection with gender equity also permeates different perspectives. Concepts of intersectionality and consubstantiality make it possible to analyze the development of segments of the female population and the interdependence of social relations. Statistical analysis and a gender equity index are proposed for the mesoregions of São Paulo. The spatialization of the index makes it possible to assess the importance of a deeper look at gender relations and the multiple identities involved therein
