This paper aims at discussing which expectations the GNT documentary series #ofuturoéfeminino (2019) projects as desirable when addressing the fight for gender equality in Brazil, Pakistan, and Iceland. It also problematizes which values emerge as central to women, in conjunction with the identity that the channel has built for itself since it decided to focus on this audience. The work starts from Arjun Appadurai’s understanding of the future as a cultural fact. In conclusion, it was found that the series limits the configuration of futures due to a weak articulation between gender relations and other categories of oppression.
