This article analyzes the care, affection and resistance practices of riverine women from the Ipiranga community (Prainha, Pará, Brazil) in the face of panema, a peculiar condition that causes repeated fishing failures and affects the physical health of fishermen and their families. Along Amazonian waterways, networks of affection and ancestral botanical knowledge intertwine with daily life, challenging patriarchal and colonial invisibilities. Based on ethnographic fieldwork (2021–2023), interviews, and family memories, this study reveals the role of women in the socialization of insurgent epistemologies that defend water, life, and collective ways of existence.
