Abstract

This article analyzes the theoretical critique of the anti-pornography movement, developed by radical feminist activists, contextualized within the “sex wars” of the late 20th century in countries such as the US and Europe. The objective is to unveil the conceptualization of pornography not as entertainment or an expression of freedom, but as a political practice of male domination. Through a bibliographic analysis method, this study investigates the distinctions between pornography, erotism, and obscenity, as well as the interrelationship between the pornographic industry, prostitution, and human trafficking. As a relevant finding, the article demonstrates that pornography functions as “sexist propaganda” that normalizes gender-based violence, revealing that technological shifts to the digital environment preserve the ideology of subordination and dehumanization of female bodies.
