QUEER (NEO)COLONIAL: COLONIALIDADE E TEORIA QUEER NO BRASIL
Abstract
This text differs from researches that advocates an approximation of decolonial theory to queer studies, drawing attention to the geopolitical dynamics of knowledge based on the binomials North / Producer of Theory and South / Consumer of Theory, without questioning the internal relations of knowledge production of queer and, still, a queer knowledge thatclaims itself as decolonial. By taking colonialism as a Eurocentric way of thinking that is structured through colonialities of power, being and knowledge, we aim to demonstrate how the queer movement reproduces this matrix by following a Eurocentric script and building up a new “elite” of thought from the relations of knowledge and power inserted in the field of dispute with the LGBT movement in Brazil.
