This article aims to analyze the importance and reverberation of reports such as that of Carolina Maria de Jesus (2014), in her debut work, Quarto de despejo: diary of a favelada, from the concept of place of speech, which it explains the divergences in the experiences of social groups, due to their origin. For this, the work of Djamila Ribeiro: O que é Lugar de Fala (2017) will be used as a theoretical parameter. With this, it is expected to give rise to a reflection on the trajectory and reception of the literary product, considering the prejudice faced due to the social locus occupied by it.
