Menstrual poverty is an issue that goes far beyond the lack of intimate pads during menstruation. It is a potential public health problem when women are incarcerated. This research is about a solution to the precarious menstruation in prison. For this purpose, document analysis and bibliographic review were adopted as a procedure; and as a method of inference, the deductive. The problem brought up by Nana Queiroz, in her book ‘Prisoners who menstruate’, had been analyzed, adopting as a theoretical framework the article ‘Conduct Adjustment Commitment’ by Eduardo Cambi and Thadeu Augimeri from Goes Lima. Regarding the results, it was realized that the commitment to adjust conduct is the most effective mechanism for the realization of a public health policy aimed at implementing the inmates' right to menstrual hygiene.
