Abstract

In this research, we will seek to problematize gender issues and their interfaces with women's suicide based on the analysis of police investigations from the period 1890 to 1940, available for research at the Casa de Cultura Emília Erichsen, in the city of Castro/PR. We know that gender-based violence promotes not only concealment and silencing but also the psychosocial suffering of many women. Therefore, it is necessary to create spaces for women to talk about their experiences, especially those of adolescence, in order to break the cycle of violence to which they have been subjected historically, culturally and socially.
