A INVERSÃO DA PALMATÓRIA E SEUS REFLEXOS NA ATUALIDADE

Resumo

O presente trabalho visa analisar a inversão da hierarquia na relação professor-aluno como expressão de uma violência típica da contemporaneidade. Trata-se de um ensaio feito a partir da menção à palmatória nas Confissões de Agostinho, analisando sua retórica com base na conceituação psicanalítica. A idealização do mestre é vista como um fenômeno com potencial ambivalente. Por um lado, professores promovem a abertura de vias de expressão da identificação simbólica pela emergência de um sujeito desejante de saber. Por outro, o professor é capaz de impossibilitar a aprendizagem na medida em que se coloca no lugar de detentor único do saber. Compreende-se a segunda hipótese como uma forma de violência dissimulada no trato verbal cotidiano em sala de aula, representativa de um deslizamento da coerção física da palmatória para o discurso, que os alunos se apropriam e invertem na atualidade contra seus próprios professores. Nesse sentido, instaura-se um ciclo vicioso de violência simbólica para o qual é sempre necessário alertar.

This paper aims to analyze the reversal of hierarchy in the teacher-student relationship as an expression of a typical use of violence in our days. This is an essay thought out after the mention of the ferule in the Confessions of Agustin, analyzing its narrative using the psychoanalytic conceptualization. The idealization of the figure of the master is seen as an ambivalent phenomenon. On the one hand, teachers promote the opening of the process of symbolic identification contributing for the emergence of an individual who can express his desire to learn. On the other, the teacher is able to frustrate this learning when he/she puts him/herself in the place of the sole ownership of knowledge. The second hypothesis is understood as a form of violence disguised in the verbal treatment given to students everyday in the classroom, representative of a sliding from the physical coercion of a ferule to speech coercion, which today students appropriate and reverse against their own masters. Thus, there is established a vicious cycle of symbolic violence for which it's always necessary to warn.
