CONSERVADORISMO E EDUCAÇÃO ESCOLAR: um exemplo de exclusão

Este texto é fruto do trabalho desenvolvido pelo Grupo de Pesquisa e Estudos Conservadorismo e Educação Brasileira da Faculdade de Educação da UFF, que procura entender a retórica argumentativa do pensamento conservador, principalmente o caráter relativamente fixo de seus pressupostos. Esses seguem padrões invariantes de argumentações teóricas. Assim, tal pensamento influencia os discursos, as posições, as práticas conservadoras na sociedade e no interior de muitas instituições escolares. A partir de uma pesquisa de campo realizada em uma escola pública da Rede FAETEC (Fundação de Apoio à Escola Técnica), foi percebido que o pensamento conservador é um dos elementos que orienta o discurso e as práticas machistas e chauvinistas de um professor em relação a uma estudante com orientação homossexual. Partindo das observações, entrevistas e narrativas colhidas na escola, foram identificados os mecanismos de difusão e adesão utilizados pelo conservadorismo político nessa escola. A partir do depoimento de uma estudante e de um professor, entendemos que a aluna sofreu processos de exclusão que se materializaram em práticas homofóbicas que deram e dão legitimidade às desigualdades sociais, reproduzindo o medo através do uso de argumentos que possuem raízes profundas na tradição brasileira.

This text is the result of the work developed by the Research and Studies Group Conservadorism and Brasilian Education, of the Faculty of Education/UFF, which seeks to understand the argumentative rhetoric of conservative thinking, especially the relatively fixed nature of its assumptions. These follow invariant patterns of theoretical arguments. Thus, such thinking influences the discourses, positions, and conservative practices in society and within many school institutions. From a field research carried out in a public school of the FAETEC Network (Foundation of Technical School Support), it was realized that conservative thinking is one of the elements that guides the discourse and the chauvinistic practices of a teacher in relation to a student with homosexual orientation. From the observations, interviews and narratives collected at the school the mechanisms of diffusion and adhesion used by political conservatism in this school were identified. From the testimony of a student and a teacher, we understand that the student suffered exclusionary processes that materialized in homophobic practices that gave and legitimize social inequalities, reproducing fear through the use of arguments that have deep roots in the Brazilian tradition.
