Abstract

The "new middle class" faces some challenges in formulating an investment portfolio when it comes to building heritage. This study aims to detail these difficulties from the perspective of family indebtedness and lack of financial education. Two key points that converge are spending too much in the short term and postponing long-term financial planning due to insufficient financial education and understanding of its importance. It is a literature review with a non-probabilistic, accessible field survey. The questionnaires were applied to a total of 46 respondents (individuals). The results show that while most participants showed only minimal attention to the subject of investments, they have already performed a buy on impulse and face some barriers to investing; a behavior that can be harmful when it comes to financial planning.
