Quando estrutura e agência se encontram: os fãs e o poder

Este artigo examina formas de poder e resistência entre fãs, assim como suas limitações,através do espectro das mídias e culturas populares. Analisando conceitualizações de poder, naquiloque descrevemos como “a primeira onda dos estudos de fãs” (GRAY et al. 2007), este artigo examina asreivindicações de empoderamento entre fãs e consumidores de mídia por meio de atos de negociação eapropriação e explora tais práticas tomando particularmente o gênero como referência. Qualificando ahabilidade e a capacidade dos fãs de contrapor formações culturais hegemônicas, o artigo correlacionaformas de empoderamento a diferentes formas de produtividade. Esta discussão é, por sua vez, contextualizadapelo exame da interconexão entre poder e identidade fandom em referencia à sociologia doconsumo de Pierre Bourdieu (1984).Téléchargements
