The text aims at an investigation about public policies for audiovisual and circuits of diffusion of national cinematographies in Argentina and Spain. To this end, it comments on some protectionist national cultural policies carried out by the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA) of Argentina and the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA) of Spain, bodies that promote cinema in these countries. The research question is how Spain and Argentina have developed strategies to address the issue of conquering the domestic market. Among the results obtained, there are some differences between the Latin and European models, as well as some notes on unconventional projection spaces in these two countries. The study does not seek a completeness on the subject, but rather to look at initiatives that can inspire new models of diffusion for national films.
