Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution must be original, unpublished and must not be subjected to the evaluation process for another journal.
  • The format of the file must be Microsoft Word or RTF (and not exceed 2 MB).
  • The text must follow the stylistic and bibliographic requirements specified in the journal’s "guidelines for authors".
  • To ensure the blind peer review process, the name(s) of the author(s) should be removed from the file's properties on Word, which guarantees the policy of confidentiality
  • URLs for the references should be informed whenever necessary

Author Guidelines

Contracampo is open to researchers and professors in Communication and Media Studies, and related fields. The journal accepts articles written by doctors, and co-written with doctoral and/or master’s students. Nevertheless, work written only by doctoral candidates may be accepted, being limited to one per issue. Articles signed by master’s students, even in co-authorship with doctors, will not be accepted. We will accept submissions of reviews and interviews signed by doctors or doctoral candidates. All contributions should be submitted through the digital system on this site.

The authors must comply with following guidelines:

1. The journal's template must be used for the submission.

2. The images should be submitted as separate files and should be in high definition. They shall be appointed as follows: TITLEOFTHEARTICLE_image1; TITLEOFTHEARTICLE_image2; etc.

3. The articles should contain between 35 to 50 thousand characters including spaces. Must be typed with line spacing of 1.5, in  A4 page format and with font Verdana size 10.

4. If a previous version of the text was presented at a conference, seminar, symposium, etc., such fact shall be mentioned in a footnote by the title of the article. We also emphasize that work already presented in academic events without substantial changes will not be accepted.

5. Each article submitted must include abstracts with up to 10 lines maximum each. The abstracts should come followed by three to five keywords.

6. The footnotes should be numbered and inserted at the bottom of the pages, using font Verdana size 8, with single line spacing and alignment of the justified text.

7. You must use italics for foreign words and for those that you wish to highlight in the text.

8. Figures and tables should be numbered and inserted throughout the text and not at the end of the document.

9. Long quotes, that is, with more than three lines, should be separated from the main text, maintaining the following formatting: left margin 4 cm, font Verdana size 9, single line spacing and without the use of quotation marks or italics.

10. The citationsof references should be as follows: Author’s Surname, year, page(s).

11. The references should be listed at the end of the text, font Verdana 10, with single line spacing between lines, justified alignment, separated by one space only and following APA rules. Example: Sennet, R. (2008). The culture of the new capitalism. Rio de Janeiro: Record.

WARNING: In any case the (s) author (s) must be identified (s) in the text. The identification of the author (s) only should be made through the papers submission system.

Artigos

Seção aberta para contribuições relacionadas com a área de comunicação e afins. Os artigos serão pré-aprovados pela equipe editorial e recomendada pelos pareceristas.

Dossiê

A revista organiza, periodicamente, números especiais dedicados a abordar, de modo aprofundado, recortes temáticos de grande relevância para o desenvolvimento do debate na área. Farão parte destes números artigos solicitados pelos editores a pesquisadores com reconhecida reflexão acerca do tema.

Entrevista

A seção tem como objetivo abrir espaço para o diálogo com pesquisadores de reconhecida trajetória acadêmica. A entrevista será conduzida por um pesquisador convidado pela comissão editorial.
