Journeys and Heroes in Piauí`sMagazine Profiles: aStudy on Biographic Gestures in Journalism

The reflections of this article focus on biographical gestures in journalism, studying them in profiles published in the magazine piauí magazine, especially from those identified as "figures of the republic"30 profiles were analyzed, out of a total of 103published profiling texts by the magazine). Using concepts how biographicalillusion (BOURDIEU, 1986), biographical naivety (BAKHTIN, 2005), the journey of the hero (MARTINEZ, 2008) and the profiles in journalism (Villas Boas,2003and Maia, 2013), as well as reflections on the nature of the biographical gesture, the question that guides this reflection is: how and to what extent does the piauí magazine use the narrative strategy of profiling to offer the reader new ingredients and gradients both in the profile and in the context and social circumstances in which they are inserted?
