This article aims to reflect on the use of didactic materials in the fight against misinformation for basic education as a support for education and media literacy actions. The dynamics starts from an action-research developed at the Dionísio Bentes de Carvalho High School, in Rondon do Pará/PA, in the Eastern Amazon, a place considered as a news desert due to the scarcity of local journalistic information. Based on research on media consumption by third-year students, a card game called Real ou Fake was produced, which was later applied to these students. The results show that the game can be an opportunity to work in the classroom with current content and of interest to students so that they develop critical competence in relation to the media.
