Abstract

The purpose of this article is to discuss, in a contextualized way, Law nº 14.172/21, known as the Connectivity Law, in the Brazilian educational context. Therefore, it discusses its genesis, as well as its discussion and implementation process with the help of theoretical contributions by Álvaro Vieira Pinto (2005) and Florestan Fernandes (1973). The pandemic context highlighted different fragilities in Brazilian public education and jeopardized the guarantee and quality of access to school education. In this scenario, the lack of commitment and negligent action on the part of the government at the time stand out, which had, as its main result, a drop in learning at all levels of Basic Education.
