Abstract

Based the author's speech about the administrative activities carried out by the São Paulo Municipal Department of Education (1989-1991), this article proposes to "uncover" the systematized knowledge by Paulo Reglus Neves Freire (1921-1997), reconciling its political-philosophical and empirical gnoseology with theoretical references and the exercise of democratic management of education. The text highlights, “in block letter”, the problematization of knowledge and power relations, particularly in the current productivity context of social and educational relations in the country, with the rewriting of Paulo Freire’s memories about his institutional experience, whose narrative reveals the freedom of being, thinking and being in the world, contributing to reinvigorating its Progressive Pedagogy, liberating and socialist.
