Abstract

Este texto discute o conceito de formas simbólicas espaciais, isto é, representações, materiais ou não, relativas às diversas esferas da vida, que estão espacialmente localizadas ou que perfazem itinerários definidos. Templos, palácios, cemitérios, shopping centers, parques temáticos, paradas e procissões são alguns dos exemplos. No presente texto são discutidas as relações entre formas simbólicas espaciais e identidade, de um lado, a reconstrução do passado e o anúncio do futuro, de outro.
Abstract
This paper discusses the concept of spatial symbolic forms, that is, social representations spatially located as temples, palaces, cemeteries, shopping centers and thematic parks or performing well-defined itineraries, as parades and processions. As examples, in this paper are discussed the relationships among
spatial symbolic forms and identity, in one hand, and the process of reconstruction of the past and the announcing of the future, in the other.
