Study of Chapter X, about Gil Vicente, in Ferdinand Denis’ Résumés de l’histoire littéraire du Portugal et du Brésil (1826), in order to understand how the patterns of the History of Literature are built, the canon takes shape, and the aesthetic values strengthen in time.
