Abstract

This paper has as its main issue the expression “Upatakon (our land)” in headlines of the online journalism about the dispute of land between Indians and Brazilians. We analyze some aspects of the relation between the official language of Brazil and the Indian language to denominate in Macuxi language the police work to remove the Brazilians out of the indigenous land. This work is based on the Discourse Analysis theoretical framework, as explained in works of Michel Pêcheux. (PÊ- CHEUX, 1969, 1975; ORLANDI, 1990, 1999).

Maria do Socorro Pereira Leal, Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR)

Possui graduação em Letras pela Universidade Federal do Piauí (UFPI), mestrado e doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) na área de Análise do Discurso. É professora do curso de Letras da Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR), atualmente atuando na graduação e na pós-graduação. Em 2009, ganhou o edital para a publicação de dissertação da Editora da UFRR, pela qual publicou o livro Raposa Serra do Sol no discurso político roraimense (2012). É membro do Grupo de Teoria do Discurso (GTDis), vinculado ao Laboratório Arquivos do Sujeito (LAS), coordenado pela Prof.ª Bethania Mariani, do Departamento de Ciências da Linguagem da Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). É coorganizadora do livro Estudos de linguagem e cultura regional: vertentes poéticas e linguísticas, publicado pela Editora UFRR (Boa Vista, 2013).
