Abstract

In this paper, we discuss some aspects on studies about migrations process in Brazil during the last decades and its natural linguistic consequences. We consider three theoretic models for understanding the new configuration of speech communities in urban big cities including accommodation between dialects and linguistic conflicts.

Maria Cecília Mollica, UFRJ

Titular em Lingüística da UFRJ. Pesquisadora I do CNPq. Atua no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Lingüística. É coordenadora do PEUL (Programa de Estudos sobre o uso da língua) e líder do Diretório de Pesquisa desse Grupo. É líder do Diretório de Pesquisa LETRAMETO SOCIAL E LETRAMENTO ESCOLAR do Programa de Alfabetização em Espaços Populares, vinculado à PR-5. Autora de vários livros e artigos em Sociolingüística, Teorias Lingüísticas e suas aplicações, em questões que envolvem Alfabetização e EJA. Orientadora de várias teses, dissertações e de bolsistas de IC. Foi Presidente da ABRALIN de 2001 a 2003 e Diretora da Faculdade de Letras da UFRJ, de 2003 a 2005.

Luciana de Mello, UFRJ

É doutoranda em Lingüística (UFRJ), possui mestrado em Lingüística (UFRJ- 2003), especialização em Lingüística indígena pela (UFRJ-1998), graduação em Letras (UFRJ-1998) e Licenciatura (UFRJ-1999). Tem experiência na área de Lingüística e Sociolingüística, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: lingüística, lingüística histórica, variação e línguas de contato.

Fernando Loureiro, UFRJ

Doutor em Lingüística pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) e professor do Programa de Alfabetização da UFRJ para Jovens e Adultos de Espaços Populares (Pró-Reitoria de Extensão/PR-5). Atualmente, desenvolve pesquisas na área de alfabetização e letramento.

Rodrigo Alípio, UFRJ

Mestre em Lingüística (2008), pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Atualmente atua como supervisor pedagógico no Programa de Alfabetização da UFRJ para Jovens e Adultos de Espaços Populares, desenvolvendo pesquisa na área de letramento, sociolingüística e acomodação dialetal.
