A contemporary (re)interpretation of Portuguese imaginary: the medicines of Dom Duarte

The aim of this article is to present and discuss a proposal of contemporary reading of the Portuguese Imaginary, with focus on cultural traditions, in- two specific fields: of health care linguistic codification of the Portuguese language, at the lexical and morphosyntactic levels. Solid support and new evidence are offered, favoring the hypothesis of cultural and linguistic stability, as well as empirical proof supporting change in the ethics of care.
