Ressonance and degrees of transitivity in spontaneous conversation in Portuguese

Abstract

This paper aims at examining and quantifying the degree of transitivity (Thompson & Hopper (2001)’s concept) of ressonant utterances, that is, utterances produced by different speakers between which is established a mapping relation, both structural and lexical. The analyses is guided by principles from the North American Functionalism.

Doutora em Letras pela UFMG, atua como professora dos cursos de graduação e pós-graduação na mesma universidade. Dentre outras publicações de sua autoria, destacam-se: Buscar menino no colégio: a questão do objeto incorporado em português (Ed.
