The art of dressing, in an African way, white mannequins
Keywords:

This paper analyses the process of going through the forms of representation of oral texts in the contemporary Angolan and Mozambiquean novel. In the end, such a process imparts different textual traits to the novel from those usually found in our western literary tradition. ln addition, the present paper tries to highlight the way in which the novelists imagery reinforces their symbolic-cultural referents without, however, leaving aside the white western heritage. The novels O manequim e o piano by Manuel Rui (2005) and O sétimo juramento by Paulina Chiziane (2000) serve as a paradigmatic basis for this reading.Downloads
