TF1 COLOURS AND LIGHTS: THE CHROMATIC STYLE TENSIONS

The article analyses the visual style of French television TFl, by observing the effects of colour, light and matter. After identifiying plastic procedures which generate stable and constant semantic values, amidst the semantic diversity and the structural dispersion of the programs, the author approaches televison discourse, which installs the system of beliefs and ensures the iconic stabilization of the relations between expression and content.
