Abstract

One of the contemporary tendencies in literary studies articulates some aspects of Cultural Studies with the so called French Genetic Criticism, which works with documents of the writer's archive. The analyses of notes, drawings, rough copies aim at reconstructing the process of writing the text, while the research of the cultural scenery provides the context for literary production. This essay focuses in the archives of Pedro Nava and Guimarães Rosa in order to distinguish between two very different processes of building up narratives.
