Abstract

Suspended between remembrance and forgetfulness, between archaic and modern, between field and city, Drummond's poetry seems to find in Itabira the emblematic place of mediation between such opposites. City of memory and oblivion, it shows off in Drummond's verses as the dimension - aerial and telluric at the same time- where everything concentrates and dilutes in Time transfigurations.

Ettore Finazzi-Agrò, Universidade de Roma "La Sapienza"

Professor titular de Literatura Brasileira e Portuguesa na Faculdade de Ciências Humanas da Universidade de Roma "La Sapienza". No âmbito da literatura brasileira, tem publicado um livro sobre Clarice Lispector e vários ensaios sobre poesia e narrativa do século XX. Estudou, também, os mitos da descoberta e, em particular, a lenda da Ilha-Brasil. Acaba de publicar o livro Um lugar do tamanho do mundo (2001), sobre Guimaraes Rosa.
