Abstract

This article aims at a broad reflection on the universe of dystopia and its political overtones through the lens of literary fiction. With this in mind, two major creations of dystopian literature using anthropo-zoomorphism as allegory were selected: George Orwell’s Animal Farm and Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinocéros. In both, the mockpraise of animalism serves a purpose of political and ideological denunciation of post-human ‘edens’.
