Abstract

On the eve of an election that will determine Brazil's course for the next four years, the landscape is one of uncertainty and unease—precisely because the prevailing media narrative, shaped by both published polls and expert analyses, fosters a sense of *déjà vu*. This situation presents—as we know—countless challenges for society as a whole and, specifically, for the field of Communication, which is recognized today for its foundational role in social relations. However, this situation must not lead to paralysis. For this reason, this edition of *Revista Mídia e Cotidiano* is guided by a principle implicit in the texts published here: the duty to leave future generations our diagnoses, reflections, and proposals for a form of communication that is inclusive, ethical, and grounded in citizenship—one that focuses its research on the central themes of today’s ubiquitous media landscape.
