Sentidos do trabalho no varejo de supermercados
Um estudo de uma rede localizada no extremo sul do Brasil

The objective of this research is to understand the meanings of work for employees working in a supermarket retail company located in the extreme south of Brazil. This is a descriptive research of a quantitative nature, carried out with 356 employees. Issues related to the dimensions Social Utility, Cooperation and Relationship with Colleagues, Moral Rectitude and Learning Opportunity were the aspects best evaluated by the respondents, while autonomy and recognition presented the lowest perception. It was also identified that Moral Rectitude, Social Utility, and Learning and Cooperation are the variables that significantly influence the directions of work, in the perception of the workers surveyed.
