Abstract

Claudia Andujar’s work stands out for bringing to the field of art the interconnection between art,
life, activism, sensitivity, subjectivity, and the power of transformation. Andujar’s impact is not restricted to the field of art, it goes beyond due to the transforming power that derives from it, effectively benefiting the Yanomami. However, the Yanomamis share a specific epistemology and ontology, so in order to articulate the understanding of the subjectivities worked by Andujar, a crossover was made with the publication of Davi Kopenawa
and Bruce Albert. This article goes through this seam, working the interconnections between the works and the social and political issues involved.

Author Biography

Joana Mazza, Universidad de Santiago de Chile

Joana Mazza é pesquisadora, curadora, produtora cultural e fotógrafa. Mestra em Arte, Pensamento e Cultura Latino Americana no Instituto de Estudos Avançados IDEA, da Universidade de Santiago do Chile. É formada em Pintura pela Escola de Belas Artes da UFRJ e pós-graduada em Fotografia como Instrumento de Pesquisa nas Ciências Sociais pela Universidade Candido Mendes. Entre suas principais atividades destacam-se a coordenação de exposições do FotoRio (edições de 2003 a 2009), a coordenação do Programa Imagens do Povo (2010 a 2103) e da Escola de Fotógrafos Populares de 2012 (Observatório de Favelas), e como curadora assistente no MAC de Niterói (2013 a 2015).
