Abstract

Interview given by the artist Antonio Briceño to the art historian Liuba Alberti. The conversation develops around various issues: science as a font of resources in the artist's creative process; the relationships between sensible, emotional and rational knowledge; the artist as activist; the freedom in the investigative and creative processes in art and science; and the multiplicity and complexity of the human dimension, among others.

Author Biographies

Liuba Alberti, Universidad de Santiago de Chile

Liuba Alberti é doutora em Ciencias de la Educación, historiadora da arte e pesquisadora independente. Foi professora da Facultad de Arte - Universidad de Los Andes, Mérida (Venezuela). Atualmente atua como investigadora na Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Suas áreas de estudo são a metodologia da pesquisa em arte e a história do patrimônio arquitetônico latino-americano. Atualmente mora em Santiago de Chile.

Antonio Briceño

Antonio Briceño é fotógrafo e ativista em prol da defesa da natureza, dos seres humanos e das culturas. É bacharel em Biologia pela Universidad Central de Venezuela, com mestrado em Artes Digitales pela Universidad Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona (España). Seu currículo conta com mais de 40 mostras individuais internacionais e 70 coletivas. Sua obra faz parte de coleções de museus latino-americanos e europeus. Atualmente reside e trabalha entre Barcelona e Caracas.
