This article investigated the motivations positive and negative impacts of activism on the mental health and well-being of Brazilian LGBTQIAPN+ activists. Eighteen activists from Brazilian LGBTQIAPN+ institutions participated, with an average age of 37.3 years (SD=10.7). An online questionnaire was used, containing open-ended questions about motivations and impacts of activism, along with a sociodemographic questionnaire. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The main motivations identified were the fight for rights and a sense of life purpose. Despite the high levels of wear and exhaustion, suggesting symptoms of Burnout, self-care and recognition of positive impacts provided well-being to the activists.
