Abstract

Abstract:

This article intends to approach the dimensions of both the life and the employment trajectories of Conceição de Maria da Costa Muniz, so as to honor her while celebrating her 91 years of an enlightened life. A black woman and a social worker, she co-founded Campos School of Social Work together with Heloisa Monteiro Paixão. This School was created as a public education institution, as part of the internalization process of Niterói School of Social Work towards the north of the state, which was later integrated to the Fluminense Federal University. Conceição Muniz names the Student’s Union from UFF’s campus in Campos dos Goytacazes, which brings together students from all the Unit's courses, since the expansion process through Reuni. This text is based on unpublished interviews, documentary, and bibliographic sources.
